Coach/Master Instructor at Peak Performance Miami
My name is Jorge Bisbal, I was born in Talara, Peru. My father worked for Exxon Standard Oil Company and thus we moved from country to country about every four years. While living in Managua, Nicaragua in 1977 my mother took me to Karate classes, unfortunately this experience was short lived as the Nicaraguan Civil War made us flee the country.
My family relocated to Miami, Florida for one year and then to Aruba where I was introduced to Japanese Karate for a second time. There, I trained for over one year before relocating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. One year later I moved to Miami where I have living ever since. In 1988, while attending Miami Dade College, I began studying Taekwondo at the International Taekwondo Center under Grand Master Soo Se Cho. Under Grand Master Cho I achieved my first, second and third degree black belts. It was great to train and learn from Master Cho, but even greater have been the friendships I developed through Master Cho at the International Taekwondo Center. In 1989 I graduated with an Associate Degree in International Affairs from Miami Dade College. From there I proceeded to Florida International University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations April of 1994. Upon graduation I began to work as an Account Manager in the floral industry in Miami, however, my heart was always in Taekwondo. In 1993 I meet Juan Miguel Moreno, Two Time Olympic Silver Medalist and US National Team Coach. This meeting later developed into a friendship which allowed me to train under one of the most Elite Taekwondo Athlete’s in the World. In 1998 left the floral industry and took the position of Operational Manager and Head Instructor at the International Taekwondo Center. In this manner I had more time to train with Master Moreno and the Team that he composed "Team Miami". For over two years I trained and traveled with Master Moreno as he once again made the US National Team and the 2000 US National Olympic Team. In May of 2000 I left the International Taekwondo Center and returned to the floral industry all the while continuing my training with Master Moreno and developing my knowledge of Olympic Taekwondo and the “Science of the art”.
During these years I have continued to develop as a Taekwondo athlete and I feel that the journey has been a blessed one. I have a rich traditional back ground as a student of Grand Master Soo Se Cho and a firm foundation of Olympic Taekwondo through the knowledge that has been passed on to me by Coach Moreno. With this I invite you and your family to experience the wonderful world of Taekwondo and its rich values of; Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.
All the best,
Coach / Master Instructor Jorge Bisbal
